Five Stars

Very nicely designed power bank, lasts forever!

This item arrived packaged in an attractively printed, strong protective retail box. Opening the box showed the power bank unit itself, securely held in a combination of cardboard and foam, and wrapped in a protective plastic sleeve to prevent scratches. Also inside the box was a decent length of Micro-USB charging cable (to charge the unit and/or a micro-USB ported phone), and a sensibly sized, well printed instruction manual.

What I like about this unit is that there are no buttons. You just plug your phone into the full sized USB port on the front of the unit and it starts charging. There’s a huge, 10,000 mAh battery in this unit, which should keep your phone (my iPhone 6 has a 1,810 mAh battery) running for about five full charges, depending on the model. I found that, unlike some other devices, this was just as happy charging an iPad as an iPhone.

When you plug the unit in to be charged itself, as you plug into the standard Micro-USB port, the LED at the front pulsates nicely. It doesn’t charge in an instant, as you’d expect for such a large battery, instead taking almost 8 hours from flat.

The LED on the front gives you an idea of how much charge is left in the device, changing colour depending on the percentage – oddly, red is full, and green is empty, which sort of goes against normal convention, but that’s a small thing, and as long as you know, it’s not an issue. I like that you just shake the device to get an idea of remaining power.

The physical design of the unit is great, I love that it’s not just a boring black box – the printed pattern has a nice, non-slip matte feel to it. It’s surprisingly light, and very thin, easily portable.

If you regularly have low charge on your phone, pick one of these up, you won’t regret it – highly recommended.
