Five Stars

Very versatile light, with a nice, white output!

This item arrived inside a strong, protective, brown cardboard box. Inside the box was the unit itself, the clamp, and a relatively short micro-USB charging lead.

The base (which houses a rechargeable battery unit) of the lamp is quite heavy, so without the clip attached it sits really nicely, and you can position the arm however you want it. There is lots of movement in all the sections, so it’s unlikely that you won’t be able to position it perfectly for you.

When the clip is attached (which is quite strong), you can use that to wall mount the lamp, or attach it to a desk / headboard etc, and make really good use of its portability. The short charging lead is a bit of a shame, but it’s the ubiquitous micro-USB, so you can use any lead you have lying around, or as it’s only needed for charging, you can just rely on the battery.

I like the look and feel of the unit, which really exudes quality. Glossy parts are protected with plastic films, again, showing the thought that’s gone into the device (although one didn’t fully come off for me, and required a bit of effort to pull out the remaining slivers of protective plastic film).

The three position switch on the side of the base gives you off, low power and high power settings. The high power is quite bright, and both settings give off a lovely, bright white light, great for reading with. The LEDs are held behind pearlescent covers, so you don’t get the pinpoints of light that you can get with some other units.

I can definitely recommend this little desk lamp, it’s a well designed, quality piece of kit.
