Five Stars

Excellent, versatile scales in a very small package!

This item arrived in a glossy, retail style box, inside a strong, protective, brown cardboard box. Inside the box(es) was the unit itself, a pair of batteries (nice!), and two protective caps that double up as measuring trays.

Pop in the included batteries, and take off the covers, and you can power on the machine. There’s a really easy to read screen, with large digits and an awesome blue backlight. I was so surprised at how small this unit is – if you’re using large mixing bowls, you’ll probably want to be looking elsewhere, but if you’re just looking to weigh heavy things (up to 3kg), not necessarily large, then these will suit you just fine.

Depending on what you’re weighing, you can use one of the included trays to measure on, or you can just sit your own bowl or whatever on the nice shiny steel surface. There’s a “zero” button, so you can add ingredients, zero it, then measure more out from zero. The device measures the important things like grams and ounces, but also does some of the more obscure measurements such as carats and grains.

There’s a nice little counting function included, so you can easily measure out say, 25 pieces of something. The look and feel of the device just exudes quality and a solid build – it’s really nice not to just see another set of plasticky scales.

I really like this useful and versatile compact little scale, and I can definitely recommend it.
