Five Stars

The best bluetooth receiver / FM transmitter I’ve used!

This item arrived in a nice, glossy, retail style box. Inside the box were the unit itself, an instruction manual, and a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack cable (decent length). The item can take input via blutooth (including music), the jack plug, or an SD card, meaning you have lots of ways to get audio via your radio.

The car power socket plug is connected to the unit via a short “swan neck” type stalk, that can be twisted into various shapes, so you can angle the device to suit your particular placement or vehicle. The colours and glossy finish suggest this is a really high quality device, as does the nicely backlit LCD screen. I love that the power plug has a USB socket at the front, so you can still charge your phone whilst using the device as a hands free kit.

The transmitted frequency can be changed at .1 intervals throughout the FM frequency band. I found the volume to be a great for this type of device, and it can be controlled via the knob on the front of the device. Reproduction of sound in both phone calls and music was excellent – again an improvement on other devices of this type that I’ve tried previously.

It’s brilliant that this device can play music over the Bluetooth connection. When a call comes in, it pauses, and resumes when you hang up. The handsfree function is great, picking up sounds perfectly from the built in microphone, and pushing audio to the radio. It’s also a cool feature that the device will play music directly from an SD card.

The device paired instantly to an iPhone, with no need for a code or anything.

This is a brilliant little unit, and I can’t recommend it enough if you don’t already have a bluetooth kit in your car.
