Five Stars

Very strong clamp, really bright light!

This item arrived inside a strong, protective, brown cardboard box. Inside the box was the unit itself, protected in bubble wrap.

The clamp at one end of the unit is extremely strong. I’m six feet tall, seventeen stones, and have chip shovels for hands, and I still found this a struggle to keep open for more than a few seconds. There’s not much chance of this slipping off whatever you’ve clipped it to, but there’s a good chance of losing fingers, so be careful!

This is actually a quite weighty unit, it is clearly a very well made, high quality lamp, and it’s not going to die or fall apart in a hurry. There’s a decent length of cable coming from the bottom of the unit, which has a three way switch (off, low light, bright light), then leads to a standard USB plug, so you can power it from a computer or a USB power adapter.

The strong neck holds securely in any position you put it in, and is long enough to reach in all sorts of places and keep some quite cool shapes. The lamp itself is solidly attached at the end of the neck, and has a pearlescent cover, so you don’t have the pinpoint bright LED lights which some devices can have.

This is a really bright, white light, whic should be good for reading, but I’d never call it a warm light, not even on the low setting. I think it would be great for working under a car bonnet, clipped (carefully) to the bodywork.

I can definitely recommend this light, it’s a quality item that gives off a great light.
